Through SOLitude’s corporate volunteering and community outreach program, The SOLution, company leaders have named Sales Support Administrator Ellen Stace of Newport News, VA, the Volunteer of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2020. As an active member of The SOLution program, Ellen plays an important role in identifying community service efforts for her local office.

Ellen’s volunteering initiatives from October through December were very notable. Her recent efforts helped positively impact the lives of those in her area lacking basic necessities. Over the past few months she spent much of her free time organizing food, baby clothing, and diapers to donate to new and expectant mothers in need of support. Ellen also committed many hours to sorting and sanitizing food and donations as part of her commitment to serving the homeless community.

Making An Impact

In total, Ellen donated more than 180 hours to serve others in light of the hardships caused by the COVID-19 crisis. She is currently the most active volunteer across the company. Throughout the entirety of 2020, she was able to generate a total of 430 volunteer hours alongside her friends and family. Preceding her was Flo Paterno of Southwest Florida who was named the Volunteer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2020.

“She is a constant fixture,” Sales Support Lead Laurie Ethridge said. “Ellen is there to greet community members in need with her beautiful smile and calls them by name; this may not seem like a huge deal for some, but for those who may be alone, hungry, and cold, this is one thing they can count on every week. You will never hear Ellen talk up all that she does because this comes from her heart and soul. The entire SOLitude team is honored to recognize her acts of kindness that truly illustrate what an amazing human being she is.”
